Presidio
Dance Theatre: Performance Company is a non-profit public benefit
corporation, approaching its tenth year. It creates and presents artistic
and international cultural programming, including an array of performances,
annual dance festival, dynamic cultural exchanges, and exhibition in the
unique setting of America's newest urban National Park, the Presidio of San
Francisco. Presidio Dance Theatre’s signature production Dancing Across
Culturestm, includes repertoire of the dances of
many nations, professionally choreographed and staged by Sherene Melania,
Artistic Director and Choreographer. Performance venues have included the
Presidio of San Francisco, Palace of Fine Arts Theatre; SF War Memorial
Opera House; Yerba Buena Gardens; City Hall; statewide and national special
events for the United Nations, Smithsonian and International Red Cross. Costumes
are primarily designed and created by the artists of the Mariinsky Theatre (Kirov)
Saint Petersburg, Russia.
